Step-by-step guide to troubleshoot defects

PDA or Smartphone appears broken? What to do before requesting help from Helpdesk? Is my Xda device broken and in need of service?

Many problems are easily fixed at home, and do not require actual repair of your device. If you can, perform the following procedures before emailing us for service. Users are advice to do self-test of device with using Self-Diagnostic application from the program before the trouble-shooting start.

If you can't turn on GPS features.

  • Active the GPS Tracking application and check on the status.
  • Check on the GPS LED indicator with blinking purple color.
  • Perform a soft reset (PDA phone) and test again.
  • Perform a hard reset (PDA phone) or restore to default settings and test again.

If GPS Tracking status keep showing GPS Locating from the application.

  • Check the GPS LED indicator.
  • The first time the GPS receiver is used it may takes approximately 10 minutes to acquire a fix (but may take as long as 30 minutes)
  • In order to get the satellite signal, the device must be outdoors to locate your current position make sure that you are in an open place without tall buildings or trees around you.
  • Try repositioning your device in your car; ideally, try to position it at the lowest possible point directly on the windscreen.

Some vehicles have a heat reflective shield embedded in the windscreen, which may prevent your device from locating your current position.

  • Perform a soft reset (PDA phone) and test again.
  • Perform a hard reset (PDA phone) or restore to default settings and test again.

Why the navigation software applications can't communicate with the device GPS system?

  • Check is the GPS is turn on.
  • Check the navigation software application is compatible with the current PDA device O/S.
  • Check device GPS Tracking application status.
  • Check the navigation software applications whether connected to correct com port.
  • Perform a soft reset (PDA phone) and test again.
  • Perform a hard reset (PDA phone) or restore to default settings and test again.
  • Contact the navigation software provider for further assistance. / Check with navigation software applications developer for further supports
