Q1: My battery drains very quickly. What can I do to preserve power?
Answer:
There are a few settings that you can change on your device that will preserve battery life. Turn off Bluetooth and WiFi when not in use. Adjust the settings for your Backlight by going to Start > Settings > System Tab > Backlight. Turn off any unnecessary audible notifications (email, SMS, etc.) by going to Start > Settings > Personal Tab > Sounds & Notifications.
Q2: Why does my device not respond to synchronizing even though Microsoft ActiveSync has been installed?
Answer:
You may want to check for any existing firewall or antivirus programs running in the background. Kindly disable and attempt to sync again.
In addition, make sure the Clients for Microsoft Networks, File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties are checked in the Local Area Connection Properties setting in the PC. For details refer to ActiveSync 4.0/4.1/4.2 USB Connection Troubleshooting Guide. Alternatively, you may want to try to change the Activesync Mode. Tap Start > Settings > Connections > USB Settings > Activesync (low speed) .
Q3: How long will it take me to have my location recognized?
Answer:
The first time the GPS receiver is used it takes approximately 5 minutes to acquire a fix (but may take as long as 15 minutes). Once initialized, the unit should acquire satellite signals in 90 seconds or less in the future. When the GPS unit is first initialized it can take several minutes for the receiver to locate the satellites in orbit. Be sure that the GPS receiver has an unobstructed view of the sky. Trees, buildings, and other obstacles are capable of blocking the satellite signal. Also make sure to have the time and date properly set on your Atom V.
